About the person

Studied Cultural and Media Studies and History at the Universities of Lüneburg and Wrocław, Poland. Doctorate in 2010 in Gießen on the German-Polish culture of remembrance regarding the forced migration of Germans. Postdoctoral researcher at the German Historical Institute Warsaw 20102015 as well as visiting professor at the University of Hamburg 2014, 2015–2021 junior professor, 2021 professor for the history of entanglement with Eastern Europe at the University of Augsburg, 2017-2021 also director of the Bukovina Institute, 2018 positive interim evaluation of the junior professorship, 2021 senior lecturer in Eastern European History as well as Modern and Contemporary History.

Since 11/2021 Director of the GWZO and Professor of the History of Eastern Europe/East Central Europe at the University of Leipzig.
