Division of the Directorate
Library and Digital Services
The GWZO library is continuously expanding its collections relating to the research region, making it the largest specialist library on Central and Eastern Europe in eastern Germany. The GWZO is responding to the opportunities and challenges of digitisation, open science and research data management. This especially applies to the material formats and media-specific forms of the knowledge generated, disseminated and stored. The GWZO is working on standardising and on networking data, as well as on the virtual indexing of arcane sources, in order to harness digital capabilities in a critical and productive manner.
