About
Sandra König studied art history and Scandinavian Studies at Berlin’s Humboldt University, as well as art history at Stockholm University (through the Erasmus programme). She obtained her doctorate (2015) from Humboldt-University with a study on Albinmüller (1871–1941), supported by a completion grant (2014–2015) from the Caroline von Humboldt Grant Program of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
From 2006 to 2009, she was a volunteer at the Bröhan-Museum, Berlin. From 2010 to 2012, she worked as a database manager at the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main. From 2012 to 2014 and from 2015 to 2022, she was a researcher in the BMBF-funded project »Burg gestaltet! Qualitätspakt Lehre« at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, Halle (Saale). From 2020 to 2022, she was also a researcher in the DFG-funded project »Forschungsdaten für die Ost-, Ostmittel- und Südosteuropaforschung (OstData)« at the GWZO, Leipzig. From 2022 to 2026, she was a researcher in the NFDI-Consortium Text+ for the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, Halle (Saale).
Since May 2026 Sandra König has been working as researcher at GWZO in the project »Mobilität und Migration von Künstlern in, nach und aus Sachsen im 17. Jahrhundert (DIKUSA-Teilprojekt)«.

During the winter terms of 2021/2022 and 2023/2024, she held a teaching assignment at the Institute for Art History at Leipzig University, where she taught an »Introduction to Digital Art History«.
